European Union smacks Apple with $2 billion fine over music streaming

In levying the fine, she said that Apple violated antitrust rules by not allowing developers to tell users in the App Store that there were other options other than Apple Music.”For a decade, Apple abused its dominant position in the market for the distribution of music streaming apps through the App Store,” Vestager said. “They did so by restricting developers from informing consumers about alternative, cheaper music services available outside of the Apple ecosystem.
