It’s Her!

By roland.g It feels like a real life version of Her. Like Joaquin Phoenix, so many early adopters have fallen in love with their Apple Watch. Do you talk to your watch? Do you feel that connection when your watch pulses on your wrist? Does your watch know just what to tell you? Are you a little less connected to reality because you are in this new relationship with your watch?

How to physically clean my iMac?

By sultanoflondon Hi all,
I have an iMac 27″, Late 2012 version, which I haven’t cleaned properly since I bought it.
As a result, it has become very dusty, externally, on the stand, near USB ports, the lock mount and especially where the air inlet grille is, behind the screen.
On old tower PCs in the past, I have opened it up and cleaned out the dust which has accumulated in the fans, near the motherboard, etc.
I won’t open up my iMac because it is a much more complicated procedure and not with simple screwdrivers, nuts and bolts.
Also, my iMac has started to show signs of ageing in terms of lag and responsiveness, so I think that cleaning it physically would help to reduce this effect.
How do I clean my computer effectively?
Thank you!

38mm battery life not that good?

By thatsmega.net I am on my 2nd day using the 38mm sport and I am not impressed with the battery.
Yesterday I managed 13 hours and it went completely flat – it did not even enter power saver mode.
Today I have tried to play with the watch less and feel I have barely used it and after 9 hours I’m only on 52% – There are still 7 hours until bed time!
I don’t understand these people going to bed after 14-16 hours and still having 50% or so…
I have noticed a lot of fake activations with wrist detection – maybe this is the cause?

Other than the 38SS BCB which models ship the fastest

By Whohoosier I have a 42mm SGS ordered on 4/10 12:35 Apple Time, Expected Delivery 5/29 – 6/11.
My wife wants one but doesn’t care which so I wanted to order one that gets to me the quickest to play with it.
Only want sport bands 38MM either SS Watch or Sport Model but not the pink band.
I understand Apple gives estimates but this board seems to show they are not keeping with the estimates. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I’ve tried to make heads and tails of it but I can’t figure it out.
Thank You

AT&T Scales Back Throttling of Grandfathered Unlimited Data Plans

By MacRumors AT&T has quietly updated one of its policies to reflect that it will now only throttle customers that are connected to a cell tower experiencing network congestion, reports Ars Technica. The carrier previously throttled all grandfathered customers with unlimited data plans that exceeded 5GB of 4G LTE data usage in a single monthly billing period, regardless of network congestion.
The updated policy reads as follows:
Quote:

“As a result of AT&T’s network management process, customers on a 3G or 4G smartphone or on a 4G LTE smartphone with an unlimited data plan who have exceeded 3 gigabytes (3G/4G) or 5 gigabytes (4G LTE) of data in a billing period may experience reduced speeds when using data services at times and in areas that are experiencing network congestion. All such customers can still use unlimited data without incurring overage charges, and their speeds will be restored with the start of the next billing cycle.”

Last October, the U.S. Federal Trade Commission filed a federal court complaint against AT&T, accusing the carrier of misleading its smartphone customers by charging them for unlimited data while reducing their data speeds by up to 90 percent. The FTC claimed that AT&T did not adequately inform its customers that they would be throttled for using more than a certain amount of data during a billing cycle. AT&T could still face penalties from the FTC if it loses the case, despite changing its policy.
AT&T customers with unlimited data plans have experienced speeds as low as half a megabit per second when being throttled, according to the report, resulting in barely usable service. By throttling unlimited data plans, AT&T is naturally encouraging customers to switch to one of the tiered data plans that it introduced in the years after discontinuing unlimited plans. Verizon, Sprint and T-Mobile have similar throttling practices where there is network congestion.

Annoying issue with iMessage on Apple Watch

By Neo2ooo So far I love the watch except for one annoying issue. When you put a particular imessage on Do Not Disturb you still receive the message on the watch. The setting will not take affect on the watch. This is extremely annoying since I am part of a few group messages that are not important and I do not need them buzzing the watch every 15 seconds. Hopefully this is something Apple can add in a future IOS release. Anyone else experiencing this issue or know of any work-arounds?
